If you choose to pay rent for your accommodation in instalments, you will need to provide a guarantor based in the country of that accommodation who can pay your rent if you fail to do so.

Usually, the guarantor will need to be over 18 and in full-time employment, earning enough to cover your rent payments. Each accommodation provider may have other specific requirements about the guarantors they accept.

Can't provide a guarantor?

If you can’t provide an eligible guarantor, there are a number of services available to help with this for a fee, but watch out for some players in the market who will charge unfairly high prices.

To help you out, we’ve partnered with the UK and Ireland's biggest and the only award-winning rent guarantor service, Housing Hand, which is an established and trusted brand looking to make the process easier and fairer.

Housing Hand will be able to provide you with a guarantor which allows you to pay your rent in instalments for a small monthly price. If you need help with this, just let us know and we'll be able to provide you with full information so that you can get a guarantor and secure your favourite room easily.

Arranging your guarantor can be done after booking your room, or before if you prefer. It's up to you!
