      Booking eligibility

      Who can make a booking through Housemates? Find out here.

      In order to book a room on Housemates, you must meet the following criteria:

      • Be at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, your booking can be completed by your parent or guardian, who will contract on your behalf. Learn more about bookings for under 18's.

      • Be a current student, exchange student or prospective student (you've officially applied for a place) at a university or college in the UK or Ireland. You'll need to provide your educational institution at checkout and provide proof of student status to the accommodation provider before you move in.

      • Be eligible to enter and rent accommodation in the country where you book and provide legal documentation to verify this, such as a visa. Learn more about visas.

      • Be able to provide a guarantor (if applicable) which meets the requirements of the accommodation provider, however, this does not need to be arranged until after the accommodation booking is made. Learn more about guarantors.
